MHFC Research

The MHFC brings together researchers, students, government, industry, Indigenous partners, & communities to address complex challenges in fisheries & marine resource management. Through innovative approaches, including advanced modelling, data integration, genomics, AI, & monitoring technologies, our research supports a deeper understanding of changing marine ecosystems & more sustainable fisheries management in Atlantic Canada & beyond.

This project explores a novel, science-based approach to achieving sustainable clam fisheries by combining ecological research, spatial data, and innovative fisheries management tools. It highlights how improved understanding of clam populations and their habitats can support sustainable harvesting and long-term ecosystem health.
