ADVANCING THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE FISHERIES

About

About the MHFC

The Myers Hutchings Centre of Excellence in Fisheries Science (MHFC), soon to be located on the 3rd floor of the Steele Ocean Sciences Building at Dalhousie University, is dedicated to solving problems that help ensure the long-term sustainability of fisheries in Nova Scotia and the rest of Canada. We aim is to address the pressing challenges posed by climate change, ecosystem shifts, and increasing competition for marine space by developing innovative, data-driven solutions. We engage with governments, industry, Indigenous rights-holders, and researchers to create a sustainable future for marine resources.

The Myers Hutchings Fisheries Centre carries the names of Dr. Ransom Myers and Dr. Jeff Hutchings, read more about these two exceptional fisheries scientists.
